SAUGET, IL - GCS Ballpark will host the annual "Braggin' Rights" game between the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri on April 4, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. The two baseball programs will play at home of the Gateway Grizzlies for the third consecutive year. During the previous two years, the Tigers and Fighting Illini were able to draw thousands of fans to GCS Credit Union Ballpark. Mizzou has its sights on winning their first game against the Illini since 2014. The all-time series is split at 13-13.

"This is an intense rivalry game between two historically good programs looking to take their program to the next level, said Mizzou's head coach Steve Bieser. "This can go a long way in helping with recruiting since both programs are strong contenders for the top prospects in the St. Louis Metropolitan area," he said.

Since the front gates opened back in 2002, the Grizzlies' ballpark has hosted thousands of events including more than a decade of Frontier League professional baseball. The ballpark has strong ties to NCAA baseball in the St. Louis area. It serves as the home field for both Webster University and Lindenwood University in Belleville. The Illinois and Mizzou Braggin' Rights game is a tremendous addition to GCS Ballparks' collegiate schedule.

"We're thrilled to have these two historic institutions back at GCS Credit Union Ballpark," said Grizzlies' GM Steve Gomric. He went on to express how this will be "a great night of baseball."
